Oven 350 deg F
Melt butter over a bain marie.
Remove bowl and add sugar and salt.
Beat in the eggs, then the syrup.
Replace bowl over simmering water and stir until shiny and hot to the touch (130 deg)
Stir in the pecans, oatmeal and coconut.
Pour pecan mixture into hot, prebaked pie shell.
Bake for 45mins - 1 hr
Some say 50 - 60 mins at 275 deg F
